Our last mixed tape collaborator sent the tape back to us with a homage to silence.
Reminding me of the avant garde track by John Cage 4'33.
This is kind of apt for me at the moment too as I have kind of lost my hearing.... I lost my hearing out of one ear after a beach house gig. And now I can't particularly hear through my other ear because of the ear drops I need to take.
It's kind of got me thinking about what it would be like if you actually did loose your hearing.... Would that mean that your hearing memory would stop right there. You would get the same songs in your head over and over again and not be able to listen to anything new to get it out. You would see your friends talking and as they spoke you would hear there voice that they had at age 25 even though they are now 55.
At least I would never have to hear this song again.

You would still have vibrations - and you wouldn't know it now, but if you suddenly lost your hearing your physical memory would be able to associate vibrations with pitches. That's what Beethoven did! Crazy, huh? Lets hope your ear is ok!
ReplyDeleteWow! That has actually blown my little brain! Amazing! Hearing is still muchos bados... Sigh.
